Bridget Jones: The Edge of Reason (2004) [22/50]

Language: English

Cast: Renée Zellweger, Hugh Grant, Colin Firth, Gemma Jones

Story: The sequel of Bridget Jones’s diary, about how things work out after she found her man in the first movie.

Screenplay and direction: The direction is okay and screenplay is not good.

Performances: Renée Zellweger’s character goes so crazy and over the top that despite her efforts you fail to empathize with the lady. Hugh Grant and Colin Firth are okay. The supporting cast is okay too.

Interesting: At Mark Darcy and Bridget's wedding at the end, they are seen walking through a graveyard. The gravestones are obviously computer generated because when you look closely, Bridget and Mark walk THROUGH one or two of them.(goofup :source, imdb)

USP: For the people who like the first one the continuity of story might be interesting, it’s a romcom with some comic moments.

Downside: eccentric, silly and unbelievable

Verdict: in this one you will not feel as connected to the characters as you should be. The plot just circulates. The communication gap in the relationship is just appalling. Not worth the watch except the fight scene between the leading men, that was still delightful. Bridget Jones’s eccentric stupidity is just not relatable anymore. 4/10
